Aldaco's in San Antonio

Saturday 8 January

Along with Lea and Tom, we found our way (eventually) to the Sunset Station, where there's a steam train covered in Christmas lights and a helicopter parked out front (it's an army town). There you'll also find Aldaco's.

It's a basic room, with kitchen tables and chairs instead of festoons and Mexican flags, but they have really good roasted salsa, guacamole and chips; amazing Caldo Tlalpeño, and generally great tacos al Pastor, chicken flautas, and a pound of fajitas ("the works," chicken, beef, and shrimp). Best meal we had in San Antonio, by far.
