Years ago, we got wonderful garlic
metts from the old Kroger's in Findlay Market, but they were seasonal at best,
and the new Kroger's hasn't carried them for a long time. The closest equivalent is the garlic franks from
Eckerlin's, bulky hot dogs that look like what Barbara's father used to call
"specials."
To go with, we made a batch of Kathy's
Napa cabbage slaw. Not traditional, which would be sauerkraut, but
we love that tangy blue cheese flavor.
