Turkey not Tetrazzini

Sunday 29 December
Lea, Mark, Sophie and Maggie were due to arrive at just about dinnertime; they will be staying in our house while we're in Oxford for six months.  So we set up a hearty (but kid-friendly) dinner for them.
The classic Turkey Tetrazzini uses up leftover turkey in a way we like, but involves a lot of pre-prep, mixing, bowl-dirtying, and baking.

We preferred to treat it as just another pasta dish: regular old boiled penne tossed in a sauce of butter, cream simmered to thicken, with at the end abundant scraps of smoked turkey, finished with a shower of grated romano cheese.

Even Sra. Tetrazzini would have enjoyed it; she looks like she had a good appetite too.
