Sunday 12 January
Liz made us a lovely supper to celebrate our arrival at her home in London.
After a prosecco toast, she served starters of smoked salmon on buttered
brown bread. Then to the table, for a
first course of hot potato and leek soup.
And for main, a magnificently savory venison stew, inspired by Elizabeth
David, but still wholly Liz's take on it.
Dessert was a rich many-berry tart
with almond crust, topped with sour cream, accompanied by generous tots of wine
society scotch.
Liz cooks with a sure instinct for
flavor, an ingenious mind, and a generous heart, so thanks to her for a
scrumptious and welcoming dinner!
