Tuna Steaks with Romano Bean Salad

Monday 3 August
Today we stayed home to prep our foods for the Hamilton County Fair, so a simple dinner that kept us off our feet was what was needed.

In this case, it was albacore tuna steaks fresh from the grill pan, enlivened with our own dill oil and a squirt of lemon.  There was also a bowl of Garden of Eden Romano beans that Barbara deemed too slender to submit for the County Fair vegetable show.  They'd been boiled briefly and tossed with oil, salt, lots of chopped garlic, and a touch of vinegar while they were still warm, then chilled and served as a salad.

As the picture shows, we can make as elegant a plate as any home cook, though not composed with cubes and tiny flowers like NuVo's.
