Saturday 9 August
We brought home a nice Bare's
chicken from Findlay Market, stuffed some lemon zest and thyme under the skin, and
roasted it in the regular oven, already hot from Holt's baking bread. Made a crisper skin than the combi oven.
Also into the pan went some Yukon
gold potatoes and a few carrots, including the first one our of our own garden,
as planted by Lea and Maggie before we got home. This one was a Siamese triplet, so should we
think of it as three times the bounty of the harvest...or are we getting radioactive
water from the Ohio River?
