While buying pork at Bigg's (they
don't infuse it with chemicals and fake broth the way Kroger's does), Barbara
found a thick-cut bone-in Porterhouse steak had leapt into her shopping basket
(how do these things happen?).
So we set
up the indoor grill, frequently flipped it until it was just under
medium-rare, and cut it in four pieces, for fairness (though the bone went to Holt). After that, it was every
carnivore for him- or herself.
For such a meaty meal, you only
need a light side dish, namely Martha Stewart's jicama, spinach (okay, garden greens) and orange salad with citrus-cumin vinaigrette. A nice combo of flavors,
though the dressing is a mite sweet for our tastes.
