Linguiça and Borlotti

Tuesday 29 July
The old farmer who sells bruised tomatoes at Findlay Market is our occasional source for fresh cranberry beans - and last Saturday was the occasion.  We bought two baskets, and slow-cooked them with just some sprigs of sage.  But where we previously cooked them for just over an hour, this year's batch took all Saturday to get tender - lucky we had them in the Canadian Tire crockpot.

Thanks to all that, tonight it was easy to slice and fry up some Kroger Bros. linguiça plus a chopped onion, and add the cooked beans.  You can't imagine how savory, spicy, and satisfying this was - or maybe you can; depends on how hungry you are.
