Chanukah Latkes

Though we actually have seen Claudia Roden more recently than we've seen Grandma Noonie, it was the latter's, not the former's, recipe for latkes that we used to celebrate the first night of Chanukah, as we find they come out more dependably tender.

Our toppings were drained yogurt, smoked salmon, and yellow caviar, making it a true smoked-fish occasion.
