Before the frost was supposed to hit tonight, Barbara went out and gathered the last leaves of chard from the back yard, meaning that Dora enjoyed this season's last encounter with a basket of harvested greens.
We used the season's bounty by making our go-to recipe, which is usually chard with sausage and lentils, but substituting cubed potatoes (which cook quicker) for the lentils.
Charles Bare bulk sausage gave it a hit of spice, so it needed very little seasoning. All in all a savory mess, perhaps even better than the original version.
