Thursday 20 March
Priscilla took us out to dinner at
Pierre Victoire on Little Clarendon Street, where she says she's never had a
bad meal.
We decided it was a white wine
night, so got a bottle of Macon Villages.
The pre-theater menu is a deal at
10 pounds 50, so we got one menu featuring gravlax with horseradish cream, and duck leg confit with prune
sauce on a root vedge and potato rosti.
Our other dishes were from the à la carte menu (courtesy of the department of redundancy department): an abundant bowl of moules marinières à la crème, and salmon
en croute with spinach, plus a rocket salad.
Desserts were a dark chocolate
fondant, and an individual Paris-Brest, like a little doughnut stuffed with
cream.
We went away happy, so Priscilla's estimate of Pierre Victoire is still on target. Thanks, Priscilla!
