Sunday 21 July
Andi and Joel put on a Sunday brunch
for us, all the local family, and friends.
We were finally able to meet our youngest great-nephew while absorbing
coffee, mimosas, and the traditional New York brunch of lox, bagels, various
cream and other cheeses, plus a fantastic onion and cherry tomato tart that
Joel made. Noonie contributed her famous
ruggelach, mandelbrot, and "Yugoslavian pastries," and it was all delectable.
It fortified us to get on the
plane once again, and fly home to a joyous reunion with Dora (who acted like
nothing had ever happened, which is the way we want her to act). And just to emphasize our Cincinnati
presence, for dinner we had a flat of Holy Ravioli with our own (last summer's) pesto.
Thanks so much, Andi and Joel - and we want to treat you as beautifully in Cincinnati as you treated us in New York.
