Penne Carbonara

We had gotten out a quarter pound of scrappy bacon, thinking we'd use it with the Valentine's Veal.  But we turned out not to need it, so it made a handy base for a quick carbonara today.
We modified a bit, by using only the yolks from two eggs - we need the whites for granola-making - and eking them out with a drizzle of heavy cream, which worked just fine.
