Sausages with Onion and Peppers

Saturday 1 March
Can you translate an Italian favorite into English ingredients?  Your standard British bangers contain much more filler and less flavor than Italian sausages (and yes, we've heard all about the fight over Euro-sausage rules).

But the Gloucester old spot pork, red currant, and rosemary sausages we've been getting from the Meat Joint at Summertown Farmers' Market are better quality than bangers.  Just look at those contented porkers, too.
We fried our sausages with red romano peppers (like shepherd's peppers, sturdier and more toothsome than plain old red bells) and onions.  We missed the fennel flavor of Italian sausages, but they were very pleasant nonetheless.
