Steak Diane Stroganoff

Saturday 22 December
Last night Holt's Dad Harold arrived; he's an easy guest, especially in allowing inquisitive cats to investigate everything he does.

As a Christmas treat, we spent the afternoon at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's "Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!)," featuring an Australian female as Drunk Santa.
We were quite hungry when we got back, so we sliced up a defrosted chunk of tenderloin pared off before cooking Holt's birthday Beef Wellington, and prepared a sort of hybrid of Steak Diane and Beef Stroganoff.
We stir-fried some sliced onions, mushrooms, and garlic; removed those and kept them warm while stir frying the sliced beef until rare; then removed that and added a splat each of dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and as we had no sour cream, a big glugg of heavy cream.  Then we re-added all the other ingredients, and had a plateful of tasty.
