The occasion was the AIA Kress
Lecture by Yannis Galanakis, and the Santens kindly invited all of us AIA and
UC types over for dinner at their lovely house overlooking the river afterwards.
Ann circulated with appetizers of sausages
and barbeque sauce, while Harry poured the wines: an A to Z pinot noir and a white
Côtes du Rhône.
Soon we lined up for the main
dishes: penne in cream sauce with shrimp and salmon, and green salad spiced up with
feta cheese.
Good conversation continued from
entry to dessert, which was coffee, almond cookies, and blond brownies. So thanks, Ann and Harry, for a stimulating
evening.
