Last Time at the Red Pepper Restaurant

Monday 28 January
We were going out with our music-loving friend Eleni to hear Christian Tetzlaff play the violin at CCM that evening (he was amazing, incidentally).  We'd wanted to go to Floyd's for chicken, but they're closed on Monday, so we went someplace close that used to be not too bad: the Red Pepper.
Well, no more.  The dinner special, featuring starchy hot and sour soup or cold hard spring rolls (when Holt asked for soup), fried dough twists to dip into sweet and sour sauce fresh from the bottle, and two different dishes (Hunan chicken, and chicken with shrimp) that had the same brown sauce and the same vegetables, though one was supposed to be spicy and the other not, were lukewarm, bland, and unappealing.
There is obviously no chef in the kitchen at Red Pepper any more, so from now on we will avoid it like the plague.
