There won't be too many grill-out
days left in the year, but luckily the weather gods smiled on us today, when
Susan and Mike had asked us over to their house for burgers. They already had a fine spread of appetizers:
both red pepper and plain hummus, various kinds of crackers, crudités and dip;
and we added our own goat cheese arugula spread, some different crackers, and
of course wine.
Dinner was said hamburgers on
fresh-baked buns, with all the fixins, including sautéed stringbeans, mushrooms,
onions, and potatoes. And dessert was
Susan's famous lemon bars. Who could ask
for anything more? So thanks, Susan and
Mike!
