Wednesday 6 May
Last week Barbara helped serve the food at an AAUP Solidarity Barbeque, and as there was lots of pulled pork left
over, she brought home a heaping platterful, which we planned to have for
tonight's dinner.
Tonight was also a celebration at
our former IGA market, which has now been finally bought by the Clifton community
(including us) as a co-op grocery store.
They served the deli meats and samples of fruits and salads to about 100
people, and then broke down the abundant vegetable and grocery display and let
all the participants take some home.
Nothing loth, we loaded up a
couple of bags with avocadoes and giant spiky globe artichokes, plus a jar of
Full Circle organic smoky BBQ sauce, and a few Persian cucumbers, tomato, and a
head of radicchio.
Our pulled pork was much improved
when reheated with the BBQ sauce, and the cukes, tomato, and radicchio went
well in a salad with arugula and leaves of our own garden lettuces.
