Wednesday 3 June
No time to shop, so we rummaged in
the freezer for a packet of pork scaloppine, and pan-fried them al limone, with capers.
The garden supplied the rest:
abundant lettuces of all colors for a salad, and for dessert, sweet tiny strawberries from under the netting that Barbara pegged out before we left to save the fruit from the
depredations of birds. Surprisingly, it worked.
At the end, we raised a glass in thanks to our friend Allison, who planted these strawberries in the first place. We hope she's enjoying her new garden in Charleston.
